About the Recipe

Bang Bang Shrimp is a delicious appetizer featuring crispy shrimp tossed in a creamy, spicy sauce. It is typically served as a flavorful and indulgent dish, providing approximately 350 calories per serving.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce

  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce

  • Bread crumbs (for coating)

  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

  • Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Preparation

  1. Start by preparing the shrimp. Peel and devein the shrimp, leaving the tails intact if desired. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

  2. In a bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Coat the shrimp with the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat. Carefully add the shrimp to the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown and crispy. This usually takes about 2-3 minutes per side.

  4. While the shrimp are frying, prepare the Bang Bang sauce. In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha sauce, honey, and lime juice until well combined. Adjust the amount of sriracha sauce based on your desired level of spiciness.

  5. Once the shrimp are cooked, remove them from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain them on a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.

  6. Toss the crispy shrimp in the prepared Bang Bang sauce, ensuring they are evenly coated.

  7. Garnish with sliced green onions or chopped cilantro for added freshness and presentation.

  8. Serve the Bang Bang Shrimp immediately as an appetizer or as a main course with steamed rice or a side salad.

Enjoy this delightful dish with its crunchy texture, spicy kick, and creamy sauce for a memorable dining experience.
