Ingredients

  • 1 pound (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger

  • Mixed stir-fry vegetables (such as bell peppers, broccoli, carrots)

  • Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)

Preparation

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to make the teriyaki sauce. Set aside.

  2. Heat some oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add more oil if needed and sauté sliced bell peppers, sliced carrots, and any other desired vegetables until they are crisp-tender, usually for about 3-4 minutes.

  4. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet with the vegetables.

  5. Pour the prepared teriyaki sauce over the shrimp and vegetables in the skillet. Stir everything together to coat evenly.

  6. Allow the stir-fry to cook for another 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the ingredients.

  7. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for added flavor and presentation.
